More Coupons

I used some coupons for some free stuff this weekend while eating lunch at Hardee's, and the lady that was sitting next to me said that I could go online and get all the buy one-get one free meal coupons I wanted.

She said that all I had to do was go to the site that the restaurant operated, and download them.

Last night, I got looking around at a few sites and found a couple that had some offers, but needed name and address and phone number,

And that just told me junk mail and telemarketers.

Aldies

I stopped into a new food store today in my area.
It is called Aldies, and from what I had heard, it was like a discount grocery store.
It was very basic, and had a few brand names, many of the prices on the can goods were the same as the great value brand at Wal-Mart.
The only good point I found was along with my register receipt, I got a strip of coupons that were good at various retailers in the area.


Times are tight, and I do grab any coupon I can find, so even though I had to put my cans in a box, and pay a quarter deposit to use the shopping cart, I still may go back

A Bad Word ?

In a forum today, I was involved in a heated debate because I said a bad word.
I had no idea it was bad.
I did not even know it was offensive.
I said the " click " word
The discussion started over the cost of ads, and placement. One commenter was complaining about in-text ads, and another was complaining over the poor results from the ads he had on his site from Project Wonderful.
The in-text poster asked me while I was reading blogs, what type of ad appealed to me, and what, if anything would make me visit a sponsor ?
I explained to him that if I was at a food site and saw something for recipe's, or coupons, I was clicking the ad.
If I was at a travel site and saw information on hotels, or coupons or even free guides I would click the ads.
Whatever site I was at, food, travel, politics, that is what I was interested at the time, and if I could get something free, or even a coupon, I would click the ad.
That is when I was hit with the names, and called thief, and click bandit, and people typing in all caps telling me that ads cost money, and I am doing nothing but wasting their hard earned advertising dollars.
I do not click ads to waste any ones money, and I do not try to commit any kind of fraud by clicking them. To me, the ads are like the coupons that come in a Sunday morning paper, and I like to check them out.
So I am just gonna keep clicking, I hope you folks don't mind

Dropping Like.............................

Because of the recent changes Entrecard has made, I have seen many of my friends remove the widget from their site.
I joined Ecard about a year ago, and it opened the door to many blogs I would never have found.
I still think Ecard is a valuable tool for most bloggers, and will continue to be a part of the group, but I am not at all happy about being forced to allow ads on my site that I do not approve of, and ads that I will not profit from.
I can only hope that somewhere, someone is working to provide another service to help bloggers connect

What's E-card Up To Now ?

First I read that there are no more paid ads, but then I find more paid ads waiting for my approval.
When I remove them from my site, I find my ranking drops.
Today, I get this Email

Hi everyone,
We hope that you have been pleased with Entrecard’s progress. The management team has been working hard to improve Entrecard and we thank you for your patience.

We have noticed that the total number of Entrecard credits in the system has grown rapidly. This has been due to the fact that more credits are being created than credits are leaving the system. If this inflation continues, Entrecard credits will be worth less and less.

To ensure a stable credit economy and reduce the outstanding credits, Entrecard will no longer give Entrecard credits to the person receiving a drop. In other words, instead of awarding 2 credits for each drop (one to the dropper and one to the blog site owner), only 1 credit will be given to the dropper. This change will be effective September 1, 2009 and will last until further notice.

We have explored many other options to deflate the credit economy and we have found this route to be the easiest and fairest way to resolve the problem for the time being. While this may seem like a set back, it has its advantages. In the long run, the prices to advertise on blogs will decline making advertising more affordable.

While we recognize your concerns, please understand that it is one of our goals to have a healthy Entrecard credit economy. This is a huge change we're making and we will continue to monitor the credit economy.
We will continue to make changes as necessary to accommodate a healthy Entrecard economy. Thank you for your support and understanding.

To be honest, I am not big on the monetization of my blogs, I did try a couple things, but I made more clicking on some paid email ads than I did on my blogs.

I never planned to retire to the islands on my blogs either, that's like a pipe dream for most

Entrecard allows me to hookup with some of my blogger friends, find a few new ones, and maybe get a shot at earning a thousand credits so I can cash them in for a buck...WHOO HOOO

I don't care about the paid ads, and the guy that put Ecard together deserves to make a few bucks, so I guess I will leave them alone for now. I does not cost me anything, it gets me a little traffic, and I can make enough one day to get a double cheeseburger at McDonald's.

Ya Can't beat that : )

What Happened To My E-Card ?

Until I checked my dashboard on entrecard, I was in the dark about the paid ads I had been reading about.
Well, I should have kept up with the forum because I had a lot of catching up to do. It seems that now the paid ads that you accept will show in a rotation on the widget you place in your sidebar along with the bloggers that pay you credits to have their site shown
With the ability to only drop 300 cards, what are the chances that I see the ad displayed from the original blogger that bought the space for the day ? For that matter, what are the chances that my ad will appear on I site that I spent credits for ?
I am a team player, and I want to do my part to help keep Entrecard going, so I will allow the paid sites on my blog. Hey, we had it for free all this time, and I am sure many of us found some great traffic to our sites, and found some great new blogs in the process
Entrecard still looks like a great way to get some traffic, and possibly another way to monetize your blog, so for now I guess I will participate in the new system, maybe I will make enough to buy myself a new Ford Superduty : )

I am not one of those bloggers that hope to retire to my million dollar mansion from the money I make on my blog sites. Hell, I did a happy dance when I got a $20.00 check from inbox dollars just for looking at emails.
